    EAST BRADENTON | Southwest FL Real Estate

    The Inlets

    The Inlets is a gated, luxury waterfront community on the Manatee River.  It features deep water docks for boats up to 80 feet long with a canoe/kayak launch, riverfront park, fishing pier, tennis courts and a wetland nature preserve.  It also has a playground and community park with trails and a 13 acre riverfront nature preserve. Construction of single family homes started in early 2000 and new construction homes are being built in 2018. Neighborhoods include Riverdale, River Point, Bella Sole, The Reserve and Harbour Walk. Bella Sole is a maintenance-free neighborhood, Harbor Walk has custom built homes and The Reserve is a luxury custom home neighborhood.

    Tidewater Preserve

    This community is on 2 miles of the Manatee River with a river walk.  There are boat slips available along with a canoe and kayak launch and tennis courts.  You will find a 5,000 square foot Lodge Community Center with a fitness room and kitchen.  There is also a resort-style pool, gathering areas with a covered veranda and a trellised patio that overlooks the river.  More information can be found at www.TidewaterPreserve.com

    Tara Golf and Country Club

    Tara Golf and Country Club is centrally located on SR70 and I-75 just one exit north of the new University Mall at Town Center.  The clubhouse is fashioned after "Tara" (the movie) and carries an Old South theme with distinctive columns and Scarlett's restaurant.  You will also find tennis courts, large lap pool, spa and pool house with showers, sauna and a well-equipped fitness room.  Housing includes condominiums, villas and single family homes.  More information can be found at www.taragcc.com

    Tara Preserve

    The Preserve at Tara also has a golf course but it is open to the public and homeowners are not required to be members.  The semi-private, 18 hole championship golf course was designed by the famed links architect Ted McAnlis with respect for the natural Florida wetlands.  It has 11 charming bridges, majestic Oaks, wetlands and wildlife galore.  The golf clubhouse has a pro shop, men's and women's locker facilities, golf cart rentals and a bar and grill room.  The Preserve at Tara also has a heated pool with clubhouse, pickleball and tennis courts. Builders Homes by Towne and Lee Wetherinton built just over 1,000 homes between 2001 and 2005. Homes include 232 maintenance-free villas on 45-foot wide lots, 163 Club Homes on 45-55 foot lots, 126 Estate Homes with 3-4 bedrooms (some 2 stories with a bonus room on the 2nd floor), condominiums and single family houses.  More information can be found at www.golfthepreserve.com.    

    Cascades

    While there are plenty of 55+ condo communities in southwest Florida, there are fewer single family home communities that cater to "adults only". Cascades is one of those few and it also caters to active adults. There are just over 450 homes here in this gated community that has a Sarasota address but is in Manatee county. The almost 19,000 sq. ft. clubhouse and fitness center has recently been renovated and includes a library-media room, two card rooms, a billiard room and an arts & craft area with 2 kilns. There is also a ballroom with a stage and dance floor that hosts concerts and theatrical productions. Amenities include a heated indoor/outdoor pool, hot tub and spa along with bocce ball and pickleball courts and a horseshoe pit. Tennis anyone? This community has 6 Har-Tru tennis courts and pro shop with a part-time tennis pro. This is a maintenance-free community, your lawn care is included in the HOA fees along with cable and internet.     Creekwood

    The 1,090 acre Creekwood community, just north of SR70 and west of I-75 has been around since the mid-1990's but new construction and new neighborhoods are still being built in 2019. The Creekwood name comes from Williams Creek which starts just east of I-75 and winds it's way west through Creekwood until it reaches the Braden River. Most homes and townhomes in the area range from the mid-to-upper $200,000s with a few in the low $300,000s. Creekwood Townhomes started being built in 2015 by M/I Homes, a Canadian builder and new construction is going on through 2019. This gated community consists of 112 attached two-story townhomes. They range from 1,571 to 2,143 square feet with 2 to 4 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths with a one or two car garage. Creekwood amenities include a community pool, recreation building, tennis courts and parks including a dog park which has separate areas for small and large dogs. It is convenient to I-75, the Mall at University Town Center and is surrounded by a large variety of shopping areas and restaurants.
